The term, "Hagiorite" comes from "Agion Oros" or more correctly "Hagion Oros". Literally the “Holy Mountain”. An “Hagiorite” therefore simply means, “one who is of or from the Holy Mountain”, and thus “an inhabitant of the Holy Mountain”.
