Why does psychology have no place in Orthodox theology and the spiritual life?
Answer
The confusion of psychology with theology, in my opinion, is the result of approaching the mystery of Jesus Christ - the Godman - first as man.
I know that this statement will not make much sense at first sight, and needs to be unpacked.
I am pleased to say, however, that this immensely important theme, as also the themes related to it, are currently being addressed in some detail in my videos / podcasts on YouTube and other platforms; and that my goal is to make my presentations available also in print and eBook publications, if God gives me the health and time needed to accomplish this task.
Furthermore, I often address the theme of the distinction between psychology and theology in all my teaching activity via Patreon: Bookclub, Orthodox Bible Study, St. John Damascene, and Philosophy.
